Choosy 2.4
This version of Choosy was released on , it requires at least macOS 14 (Sonoma) to run.
Release notes
New features
- Use Choosy in your Shortcuts, where you can:
- Open a URL, which will apply your rules as usual.
- Prompt to select a browser, which will prompt you to select from all browsers.
- Rules that open the macOS Share menu now use the new native macOS popup instead of the old drop-down menu style.
Bug fixes
- Prevent Choosy from being added to Choosy's browser list.
- Fix missing icon on the rules tab in macOS 14 (Sonoma).
- The browser list is no longer empty on first run.
- The macOS Share menu no longer disappears when opening links from recent versions of Slack.
- Gracefully handle browser icons without the standard transparent border in the prompt. This stops the MS Edge icon from appearing larger than other icons at some sizes.
Maintenance & minor tweaks
- Fallback icons for unavilable SF Symbols are no longer included, slightly reducing the size of the Choosy app bundle (all of the versions of macOS that Choosy supports now ship with SF Symbols).
- Removed some dependencies on deprecated code. This has no immediate impact on Choosy's functionality, but makes it more likely that Choosy will continue to work smoothly in future versions of macOS.
- Made some of the options in the rule editor's dropdown menus more brief, so that the text fields can occupy more horizontal space.
- The prompt preview in the settings window now uses the first three browsers from the browser list, instead of always showing three Safari icons.
